The story of POWERLESS revolves around a group of young heroes in Logan Square who attempt to understand and develop their powers in a city where heroes are relegated to bureaucratic paper-pushing and crimes are solved by non-masked, non-caped, and non-super cops. Follow the antics of the rag tag SYS, government regulated MSCC (Metropolitan Superhero Conglomerate Corporation), and our protagonists, freshly graduated Milo, Massen and Maggie, as they attempt to determine the role of the hero in modern day Chicago's urban jungle.

The Society of Young Superheroes is an organization that exists to challenge the current superhero culture in Chicago. In a city where heroes are relegated to bureaucratic paper-pushing and crimes are solved by non-masked, non-super cops, the SYS is an order of crime-fighters who walk the streets instead of the office halls. Join us in our attempt to revive what it means to be a true "hero"!

As an indication of the SYS's commitment to its community, we hold events in which our non-super neighbors and friends can participate. This summer, in partnership with our friends at Chicago's Voice of the City, we will be putting our story on stage! Our production POWERLESS: Issues 1-3, a comic book play about superheroes in Chicago, will be produced at Voice of the City studio from July 28-August 20th. Check out our Goings On section for more information about POWERLESS and to find out about additional upcoming SYS events.
